Obviously you have your classic ski resorts like Aspen, Vail, Park City, Lake Tahoe, Whistler, etc. But we thought we’d find some hidden gems you could discover instead! These locations will likely be less expensive than Aspen or Vail and have that ski village charm you need for all your IG posts.

Idaho

Sun Valley

Located in Ketchum, Sun Valley is a gorgeous ski resort with an adorable town close by. You can stay at the classic Sun Valley Resort, built in 1936, or choose from many AirBnB options with ski-in-ski-out or within walking distance to town.

Sun Valley is famous for its pioneering ski culture, great après-ski scene, and celebrity history. You’ll find photos of celebrities back in the 1940s and 1950s in the Sun Valley Lodge and throughout the resort mountain lodges. Quaint shops, art galleries, and a vibrant western bar nightlife are a few of the reasons to consider this location.

For traveling convenience, there’s a regional airport you can fly into in Hailey, about a 20-minute drive from downtown Ketchum. Frequent flights include roundtrips from multiple California hubs, Seattle, Denver, and more.
