How to Include the Groom in Your Bachelorette

While the bachelorette party is about the bride, it’s fun to find little ways to incorporate the groom into the bachelorette party — either in spirit or in person. You can include the groom in your bachelorette party by having him participate in a bachelorette game, dropping in as a surprise guest, having a combined bachelor and bachelorette activity, or by using his face as part of the decor. Here’s just a few of our favorite ways to include the groom in your festivities:

The Best Ways to Include the Groom in your Bachelorette Party:

Make a Fathead of the Groom to pose with for photos

  1. Make him the Surprise Guest

Break the “no boys allowed” rule of the bachelorette party, and have the groom show up as a surprise guest! He can arrive under the guise of the entertainment for the night, can be a part of a game, or just be the pizza guy! The groom doesn’t have to stay for the whole time — he can just show up for a quick kiss, deliver the rules for the next game, or hang out and eat food for a bit with the gals.

  2. Quiz The Groom

Before the bachelorette, have the groom fill out the answers to questions about the bride, himself, and their relationship, similar to the newlywed game. These can be funny, sentimental, or a little bit scandalous. As a bonus, you can actually have him record himself answering the questions. Then, at the bachelorette party, have the bride try to guess how her fiancé answered the quiz. You can then play the video of him answering the questions to see how many the bride got right. You can turn this into a drinking game, or just a fun way to start off the weekend.

  3. Make Temporary Tattoos

If the groom can’t physically be at the bachelorette party, make temporary tattoos of his face! These are a funny addition to your night out, and the groom can still be close to her heart. If you want to DIY your own temporary tattoos, you just need temporary tattoo paper and a printer. Or, you can send in a photo and have the tattoos pre-made for the bachelorettes.

  4. Host Joint Bachelor / Bachelorette Activities

Team up with the bachelors to do an activity together, or even do the entire bachelorette and bachelor party together. In our opinion, the best kind of activities to bring the bride and groom together are the competitive kind where you can put boys against girls — like laser tag, bumper cars, karaoke, or a water balloon fight. For less rowdy groups, consider grabbing drinks or eating at the bride and groom’s favorite restaurant or bar. The bride and groom will enjoy seeing each other for a bit before being whisked away back to their own parties.

  5. Make a Life-Sized Cutout of the Groom

If subtle isn’t your specialty, order a life-sized cutout of the groom to attend the bachelorette. You can dress up the cardboard groom for the theme of the party, have him participate in games, and even hold the itinerary for the weekend. We recommend printing your life-sized groom through Fathead. The options really are endless, and imagine all of the fun photo-ops!

  6. Play Jeopardy

Play a game of jeopardy, but wedding edition. The categories can be anything from “The Groom” to “Wedding Trivia” to “Ding a Ling” to “TV Romances”. The groom can answer questions ahead of time to be included in the game. To play, have the bachelorette guests divide up into teams. Each team races to figure out the answer, and whoever gets the correct answer first wins the points. Setup a digital version of Jeopardy here, or order a kit off of Etsy to make your own. You can even turn it into a drinking game where instead of earning points, the losing team has to take a drink.

  7. Put The Groom on Shirts or Fans

We really love the idea of spending a night on the town wearing baggy shirts with photos of the bride and groom, and it’s even more fun if you have each of your guests provide a photo to be used. If you don’t want to go out wearing the shirts, we love the idea of fans (which you can print through Fathead and then put on a popsicle stick) to cool down by the pool. Use iron-on transfers to put the bride and groom on your t-shirts or order the shirts or fans online.
