Have you seen this viral bachelorette venmo idea?
Women are creatively sharing their Venmo handle (on the back of cars, using QR codes, etc.) so that people can buy the bride a drink as they celebrate her bachelorette. Essentially, it’s a way to crowdfund your drinks for the weekend, and we think it’s a great idea.
In a viral TikTok, a group of friends wrote “Last Fling Before the Ring, Buy the Bride a Drink” on the back of their car as they road tripped to a bachelorette party. Underneath, they also included their Venmo handle, so that passerby’s could help them celebrate by sending the girls a few dollars over Venmo for a drink.
The bride from the video ended up receiving over $3000 for her bachelorette weekend!
We LOVED this idea, because who doesn’t want to help celebrate a bride-to-be on her bach weekend!? You may not be able to make thousands without a super viral video, BUT you still might be able to have your bachelorette night out covered. (And who doesn’t want that!?) How to Get Free Drinks for your Bachelorette Using Venmo
Whether you’re driving or walking through the airport, you can still crowdfund your bachelorette using Venmo and a little creativity. The two easiest ways to get free drinks for your bachelorette are to write your Venmo handle on your car, or print out a QR code that links to your account and wear it. We recommend creating a Venmo account* specifically for the weekend, so personal info isn’t included in the handle. Keep the handle short so people can easily type it in.
Wear Your Venmo Code for your BAchelorette
Here’s what you need to do:
Create a Bachelorette Venmo Account.

In Venmo, tap your profile on the top left, and then hit The QR code icon.
From there, save the image to your phone.
Add the QR code to a graphic, and print!

How to create a Bachelorette Venmo Account
Already have a Venmo Account?
Temporarily change your Username
You can temporarily change your username for the period of the bachelorette party, so that your personal handle isn’t being used. You can change your handle under Settings > Edit Profile. We also recommend changing all transactions to private once doing this.
Setup a Bachelorette Gmail
If you’ve already used your email or phone number to sign up for a Venmo account, we found a quick solution using Google. We recommend setting up a Gmail for the weekend. It will take 5 minutes, and that way you can use the Gmail account for Venmo, as well as any other reservations you may need for the weekend. And secondly, you can register for a free phone number with Google Voice to send and receive SMS messages. (This means that you can verify your account using the SMS authentication code). Here’s the quick and easy steps:
Register for your bachelorette Gmail with Google.
Sign up for a custom phone number with Google Voice.
Sign up for Venmo using your new bachelorette Gmail + phone number.
Note: you don’t actually need to connect a bank account or card when signing up. You can just transfer that money over to your own account once the weekend is over.
Transferring Your Money
You can transfer the bachelorette money to your own Venmo account after the weekend is over just like you would if you were Venmo-ing a friend for a meal. We recommend that your transfer history is set to private, instead of public. You can also setup a joint account if you do want to use the same bank or card info on the bachelorette account.
