If you're more about flexibility and maybe saving some cash, snagging a cozy cabin or bed and breakfast off-site could be the move.

When you're planning your ski trip base camp, it's all about finding the right vibe to match your group’s style. So, first off, you've got the classic debate: ski-in/ski-out resorts or off-site accommodation? Ski-in/ski-out spots are killer for those who want to roll out of bed and onto the slopes, with no hassle. But if you're more about flexibility and maybe saving some cash, snagging a cozy cabin or bed and breakfast off-site could be the move. Plus, you get that chill cabin vibe and maybe even your own hot tub to soak in après-ski.

Speaking of cabins, they're like your own little slice of mountain heaven. Think spacious living areas, fully loaded kitchens, and maybe even a fireplace to cozy up to. But don't forget to check how far you'll be from the action. Being close to the resort means less time driving and more time skiing, but if you're cool with a short commute, you might score a sweet spot that you like even better.

Last but not least, think about what extras you need to keep the good times rolling. Ski storage? Heated pool? Onsite bar? And hey, if you're into hitting the town after a day on the slopes, walking distance is a lifesaver. After all, a killer day on the mountain deserves an equally epic night out. You can do that in town or at the resort, but do that vibe check research ahead of time and figure out what works best for your group.

One thing to keep in mind – a lot of these towns and resorts are more remote, so ridesharing is likely not an option. So make sure that if you do have to drive often between your base camp and the resort, you have a good rental car option and a designated driver for those nights out.

No ski day is complete without some après-ski action. Scope out the local bars and breweries or set up camp at the mountain resort.

We’d like to think this is the most fun part of planning so we came up with a quick itinerary to give you some winter activity and celebration inspo! If you’d like to see a real Hello Bach Party success story on the slopes, check out this blog post here! This fun group went to Whistler for a bachelorette and nailed the theme and agenda.

Day 1: Arrival and Settling In

First things first, let's get you checked in and ready to rock. Roll up to the lodge or cabin, drop your gear, and maybe snag a quick selfie to mark the start of your epic ski adventure. Then it's time to kick things off with a welcome dinner or party at the lodge. Think cozy vibes, a good playlist, and maybe even a round of drinks to toast to the weekend ahead. After all that excitement, unwind with some chill activities like soaking in the hot tub or sitting next to a cozy fire while drinking some hot cocoa or a hot toddy.

Day 2: Skiing and Snow Activities

Rise and shine, it's shreddin' time! Whether you're a seasoned pro or a first-timer, hit the slopes for a day of skiing or snowboarding. Don't worry if you're new to the game—consider snagging some lessons with a few of your friends to get your confidence up. After skiing or snowboarding, mix it up with some other winter activities like snowshoeing, sledding, or even hitting up the local ice rink. And of course, no ski day is complete without some après-ski action. Scope out the local bars and breweries or set up camp at the mountain resort.

Day 3: Adventure and Relaxation

Another day of winter fun! Whether you're hitting the slopes again or trying out something new, make sure to soak up those stunning mountain views and crisp winter air. Feeling like treating yourself? Opt for a spa day or some chill afternoon relaxation—think massages, hot springs, and maybe even a little yoga session to stretch out those ski legs. Yoga studios are plentiful in these mountain resort towns, take advantage of them! Later, it's time to bring on the bachelorette party vibes! Plan a themed dinner (ski bunnies anyone?) bust out the games, and crank up the energy for a night of celebrating the bride with your crew.

Day 4: Departure

Start the day off right with a farewell breakfast or brunch to fuel up for the journey ahead. Then, if you've got any last-minute shopping or sightseeing to do, now's the time to squeeze it in.

This is true about any bachelorette trip you plan, but budget obviously matters. This will vary depending on a lot of factors, but especially location and the resort you choose. Here are some items to budget for:

  • Lift tickets

  • Ski gear rentals

  • Resort or cabin accommodation

  • Winter clothes rentals

  • Food

  • Car rental

  • Flights

And here are a few tips on ways to save some moolah so you can spend it on other things (or don’t spend it at all!):

  • A lot of resorts have group discounts, so call and ask them what group size you need to have to get one.

  • Sometimes there are off-peak season discounts. Check for those on the ticketing page of the ski resort website.

  • If you stay at the resort where you’re skiing, often they’ll give you lift ticket discounts or a free night at the resort hotel.

When you’re planning out your budget in more detail, we suggest using apps like Splitwise to make sharing costs easier. Also, you should check out our planning template to make budgeting and itineraries even easier.

Alright, let's talk gear. Whether you're carving up the slopes or just here for the après-ski, you'll need the essentials. First up, skis or a snowboard, boots, poles, and of course, a helmet to keep that noggin safe. Don't sweat it if you don't have your own gear—most resorts offer rentals super easily, so you can hit the slopes without lugging your stuff around. This is honestly super convenient even if you do have gear. Makes it less stressful to not fly with your very expensive skis.

Now, onto the fashion part. It's all about staying warm and dry out there, so layer up with thermal tops and bottoms to keep that body heat in. A waterproof jacket and pants are a must to keep you dry when Mother Nature decides to dump some powder. And don't forget those gloves, a cozy hat, and some warm socks to keep those toes toasty.

Pro tip: if you're not about dropping big bucks on a snowsuit you'll only wear once, check out online rental spots for some cute and affordable options. Rent the Runway, By Rotation, Hurr Collective, just to name a few.

Bachelorette Party Essentials

Now onto the fun stuff—bachelorette mode, activated! Bust out those ski bunny-themed outfits or accessories to let everyone know you're here to party for the bride. Think matching beanies, funky knit sweaters, or colorful ski suits. Don't forget to pack some party favors and decorations to deck out your cabin. Think balloons, streamers, and maybe even some props for those Insta-worthy pics.

Also, don’t forget to check out our comprehensive bachelorette packing list here.

Don’t forget to ask what the ski patrol emergency phone number is in case you need it later.

Once you’re finally on the mountain, it can be so exciting to get moving and grooving up the gondola, down the slopes, rinse and repeat. But when you do snow activities in big groups, it can be easy to get separated if you don’t have a plan. So remember:

  • Assign buddies

  • Pick a spot where you all meet up for lunch or après ski at a specific time

  • Make sure your phone is charged in case you get lost

  • Ask what the ski patrol emergency phone number is in case you need it later

And, as always, be a girl’s girl and support your friends who would rather hang out in the ski chalet all day instead of shredding the slopes. Not everybody has to be doing the same activity at the same time all the time! That’s the beauty of the ski trip – there’s more to do than just skiing.

After diving into the world of bachelorette ski trips, it's clear that hitting the slopes for a winter wonderland getaway is an absolute blast. Whether you're a seasoned pro or a newbie to the ski scene, there's something for everyone to enjoy!

There's no shortage of excitement and adventure waiting to be had. Whether you're carving up the slopes at renowned resorts like Sun Valley or Mount Bachelor, or exploring hidden gems like Schweitzer Mountain or Hoodoo Ski Area, each destination offers its own unique charm and opportunities for fun.

And let's not forget about the après-ski scene and bachelorette party festivities! From themed dinners to cozy nights by the firepit, there are plenty of ways to celebrate the bride after a day on the mountain. Plus, with practical tips on budgeting, safety, and preparation, your ski trip is not only unforgettable but also safe and stress-free.

So whether you're planning a girls' getaway or a bachelorette bash, a ski trip offers the perfect mix of adventure, relaxation, and celebration. We’ll leave you with some IG caption ideas while you start researching which resort to book.
